Shocking Pearl:

Matthew, a tax collector for the Romans, was called to be an apostle by Yahushua, our Mashiach. In Matthew’s gospel account, he begins by writing about our Messiah’s ancestry. He establishes Messiah’s Davidic lineage to the throne, connecting Yahushua to Abraham, the father of the Hebrew faith. While most of the New Covenant was written in Greek, Matthew wrote the gospel in Aramaic Hebrew, a gospel most likely pointed toward the Jewish people! In Matthew’s gospel, we see Messiah as the messianic King. In the gospel of Mark, however, the Messiah is a servant. In Luke, Messiah is the son of man, and in the gospel of John, Yahushua is revealed as the son of Yahweh!

In comparison to the other gospels, Matthew does not mention several kings in the lineage of Messiah but pens and lists five women in reference!

Many Jewish leaders raise a concern because women are not traditionally included in genealogies.

Matthew writes, “And Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Miriam, of whom was born Yahshua, who is called Messiah” (Matthew 1:16 RSB).

Except for Miriam (Messiah’s mother), some might argue that Elohim would not allow these other four women to be chronicled in Messiah’s genealogy since they each had immoral issues and were not Jewish!

Tamar: The Israelites were forbidden to marry Canaanite women. Tamar, likely a Canaanite, disguised herself as a harlot, tricking Judah into having relations with her. She gave birth to a son named Perez, an ancestor of David (Deuteronomy 7:1-3).

Rahab: Was a known Canaanite and was a harlot by trade! Rahab feared the God of the Hebrews and even converted to the Hebrew faith! Adonai blessed her, and she became the mother of Boaz, the great-grandfather of David (Joshua 2:1, James 2:25).

Ruth: Was a Moabite woman whom the Israelites were also forbidden to marry. She was loyal to the Israelites and became one with the Hebrew people. Ruth is the great-grandmother of David (Ruth 1:16, 4:13–22, Deuteronomy 23:3, Nehemiah 13:1).

Bathsheba: Was a married woman whom David had relations with, who later became his wife. Yahweh took their first child, conceived in adultery, in judgment. David prearranged the murder of Bathsheba’s husband. Bathsheba conceived again with David and gave birth to Solomon (2 Samuel 11:3-5).

We see that Messiah’s lineage includes gentile women! Miriam, Messiah’s mother, was Jewish from the tribe of Yahudah/Judah, and her husband Yoseph/Joseph Yahushua’s stepfather. We can conclude Messiah is the liberator of all mankind. Jew, Gentile, man or woman, no matter how sinful they are.

But now in Messiah Yahshua ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Messiah. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances;[1] for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto Elohim in one body by the stake, having slain the enmity thereby (Ephesians 2:13-16 RSB).

[1] Ordinances derive from the Greek word dogma, a civil, ceremonial, or ecclesiastical law. Yahushua removed the ordinances, referring to man-made rabbinical laws and traditions, which separated Jews from non-Jews. These ordinances do not refer to the Old Testament Commandments of Yahweh!
